End of Month one!

From getting the keys on the 1st of October as an empty shell, it’s great to see where the venue is today!

The first 2 weeks were a busy rush to get things ready in time. Namely the tables, countertops and importantly the coffee machine! I couldn’t have done it without the help of many of my friends and family. From plumbing to table building to spreading the word, they have been so amazingly helpful.

I am so appreciative of everyone that has provided support and helped in setting up the business, in whatever way you have. This brings me onto…

So many of you have been generous and supported the venue through Kickstarter. With your help, we smashed through the initial target of £1000.

With a range of tiers, from buying Northern Alliance Games branded dice to paying ahead for 6 months worth of membership, whichever reward/rewards you chose, they are all helping to give NAG a great start.

What’s been going on

We are gradually getting the word out, and more and more people are finding out about us and popping along.

We already have a busy Thursday night Magic the Gathering group, as well as some regulars who have already played a few games. The Horus Heresy scene seems quite strong, as we kicked off our events with a 16-person event. The guys from November Echo Wargaming will be running a monthly league event for Horus Heresy. Look at their Facebook page and our events section for more info.

We currently have about 6 events already planned for November, including painting workshops, tabletop tournaments and card game drafts. We are adding to the events schedule daily! We have also seen the shop stock steadily increasing as we get our accounts approved by the various suppliers.

I am looking forward to the coming months as we start doing more and more events. It has been nerve-wracking sometimes while I’ve been sat here during the quiet times. However, I have spoken to lots of people who have visited the shop and people are very keen to have this new hobby hub nearby. I could see the vision I had for this place coming together when the venue was full and bustling on the weekend of our first event. I could see the full potential of this place starting to come through.
