Let me introduce myself…

Over the years I have had many different jobs, including, being a coffee barista, a maths teacher and also working in a mental health charity. As I am opening this business, I am finding that a lot of the experiences in those jobs will be really useful .

As you can probably guess, I love all things tabletop gaming, trading card gaming, board gaming, roleplaying gaming etc. My main problem is that I am too interested in ALL of it. I love learning new games, and working out how to become really good at that gaming system.

I initially started the hobby by playing Warhammer 40k and collecting the Lord of the Rings strategy battle game magazines back in the day. 40k was a mainstay, but over the last few years, I got heavily into Marvel Crisis Protocol, and I have loved playing in many tournaments. As a real star wars geek, Legion and Shatterpoint are also games I love to play, but when Ezra was on the way, and made his arrival, gaming took a bit of a hiatus. That is when I got involved in Magic the gathering, as I just found carrying a deck or two much more straightforward than army building and carrying boxes around while there were many sleepless nights. During this time, Magic the gathering gaming every week has been a great lifeline for keeping my sanity and having a great way to see people in a relaxed setting.

Which leads onto what my aim is for Northern Alliance Games…

I want it to be a reliable, approachable gaming hub that anyone can come to, no matter what their gaming experience level is. I want to provide things that are useful for everyone in the gaming community, whether it is teaching people new games, hosting painting workshops, competetive gaming events etc.
